We tailor our treatments to each individual client so, depending on what your appointment is for, you may be offered
a combination of the therapies on offer. Here is a brief overview of each therapy, followed by a quote from one of our clients,
to give you a better idea of what we do:-
Oriental Body Balance
A combination
of Western and Eastern techniques, combined to give a gentle, subtle method of addressing your body's imbalances, which
are gained through injury and illness during your lifetime. A session may include principles or techniques from Chiropractic,
Kinesiology, Chinese Medicine (TCM), Sport Therapy and massage.
Each treatment is as individual as you are and aims
to help with the 'knock-on' effects of illness and injury, thus promoting your whole-body health, rather than just
looking at one problem in isolation
"Came in for my first session having been on crutches for 6 months.
Came in for my fourth and did a jig"
(KB, Morecambe)
KORE
Therapy
This is the new name for Oriental Body Balance: if you have had a treatment under this name before,Sharon
has a Diploma qualification for both and is happy to call it by either name
Hydrotherm
Massage
A luxurious oil-based massage where you lie face-up on warm water-filled cushions. It's relaxing,
de-stressing, effective and can be varied to your needs, whether you need a gentle or a deep-tissue massage. The really good
thing is you don't have to turn over to have your back massaged!
This can be used for various types of massage,
including relaxation and sports massage.
"You just can't describe how good this is - you
have to try it to find out "
(CV, Lancaster)
Ultimate
De-Stress ™
Many of our clients come to us with a variety of problems (pain, headaches, digestive
troubles, etc) which are caused by stress at home or at work. This has led to the introduction of Ultimate De-Stress™
which is exclusive to Joined-Up Therapies... you won't find it anywhere else! This is a combination of Hydrotherm Massage
and specific Oriental Body Balance / KORE Therapy techniques and, as you would expect, it's tailored to each individual
client.
"Really lovely. Feel very relaxed now. Thank you"
(RB, Morecambe)
Sports
Massage
This type of massage is usually the deeper tisue massage you expect from a Sports or Remedial Therapist.
It is good for releasing deep-seated muscle strains and pains and also as a post-event /sport therapy. Sports massage usually
uses a massage oil but we also use Tui Massage Waxes, which allow the massage to be even more thorough (and are less messy).
Tui
Na (Chinese Massage)
This uses advanced techniques, especially useful in loosening up stubborn 'muscle
tightness' or at the end of a more specific treatment, to free up the whole area.
Cupping
Therapy
This provides a deep massage and / or deep tissue release by using 'cups' which are applied
to the affected area ad either left in place or moved around to release the tissue. This is usually used as part of a targeted
or general treatment and is very good a releasing toxins or impaired circulation, often caused by an unrecovered injury or
bad posture.
It's also been reported to be good at treating cellulite-prone areas
Chair
Massage / On-site Massage
Possibly the quickest, most-effective massage you can have for your back, neck
shoulders and arms, this is ideal for those who spend their working day sitting at a desk or computer. Given in a specially
designed, adjustable chair, a full, effective chair massage takes 20 minutes but we can target back and shoulders or neck,
shoulders and arms in only 10 minutes.
Please also see our '
workplace services' page (coming soon) for details of how you can have chair massage brought to you at work.
